Photosynthesis is the process used by plants to convert sunlight, water, and nutrients from the soil into glucose that they can use for energy. We did this experiment in order to see if different variables affected photosynthesis. This is also the process that causes plants to produce oxygen.
For this experiment, we put leaf disks soaked in a baking soda solution into airtight syringes of water. We put the syringes under different lights to see if they would photosynthesize at a faster or slower rate, based on type of light and type of leaf used.
